My conversation with Dr. Hawthorne after class revealed that Dr. Pass does not like any left nav. The suggestion is that the nav I suggested for the left column, should appear in a second row under the top navs. ie if you click About Us, a second row of navs would appear. Can we try adding that row Eric? Also, Eric pointed out that you can't reach the nav sample through the digital drop box. He offered to post it. TM
I don't understand code enough to know how Kate's suggestion will work; The idea they (Pass and Hawthorne) is that the second row of links would appear on the "page." For example, if you were on the About Us page, a row of links would appear at the top of the page, under the navigation. They would be part of the "code" for that page, not linked to site navigation. Does that make any sense? Kate, is that how that coding that you linked to works?
The tabs on the top of the page are what the code produces. It's designed so if you click on a different tab or section, a new set of links will appear pertaining only to that section.
I shouldn't have any problems making the navigation work the way Dr. Pass and Dr. Hawthorne have requested. I hope to have some time to work on it tonight. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi. I like this one better with the tabs... it's kind of what we were talking about doing in class. What do other people think?

Here's a site that shows how to code a second row of links under the tabs using css:
